The company’s executive and technical management, with over thirty-eight years of experience in the information technology industry, develops authentication software for security solutions designed to offer unprecedented protection for today’s increased threat environment.
Current government mandates, compliance regulations, and escalating cyber security demands, are driving the requirement for strong two-factor authentication (2FA) for all networks, cloud-based computing, data security and homeland security.
From 1999 to 2010, the BiObex team designed and developed authentication software with input from the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community to meet the need for secure, interoperable, and scalable solutions in support of enterprise-wide authentication requirements. The company’s past experience in the use of biometrics, cryptographic tokens, and secure one-time passwords became the building blocks for a new and innovative authentication solution that is browser-interoperable and adheres to national and international standards.
In 2010, BiObex research confirmed that most login authentication, whether passwords, tokens, biometrics, or SmartCards, could be copied and replayed to gain access to a network or the web. The results of these investigations prompted the company to develop a new authentication protocol called SAFE (Strong Authentication Front End), a patented technology that provides secure transmission of evidence for desktop, network, or web-based authentication.
BiObex filed its first patent for authentication in 2003 and has been awarded several patents surrounding strong authentication processes that provide more secure access to information and reduce or eliminate the theft of passwords and other authentication information that are currently subject to discovery by the most common cyber-attack methods such as keylogging, man-in-the-middle, man-in-the-browser, phishing, replay and brute force.
Additionally, the company developed a suite of support applications called SAFE Technology that not only addresses the growing cyber security demands for strong authentication and secure access into networks and cloud environments, but also protects data in transit and at rest.
